There are different and legendary areas for an abundant fishing such as: Marietas Islands, El Banco, La Corbetena, El Morro and El Faro. There are basically two types of fishing in Puerto Vallarta for open sea and one is chosen depending on the location of the school:

The "Troleo", which consists of keeping the boat at a constant speed of 6 knots. The lines are hauled at a shallow depth. Bottom Fishing, which is when the boat stops in deep water. The hooks are loaded with "downriggers", a lead lure that makes the line quickly go down to 200 feet.

Whatever your preference, Bahía de Banderas is undoubtedly one of the best options for fishing internationally.
